Three pool well, Lijiang

It's a clever idea. The bit with the circular enclosure is the spring, for drawing drinking water. The second pool is for washing food. The pool nearest the camera is for washing clothes. Roger shot it on our trip to China in October 2005, using a Leica (M4P -- the MP had colour in it) and 35/1.4 Summilux. He waited until there were some people in the shot because it was a bit bleak and lonely otherwise.
